For consistent knotting consider practising the following on odds'n'ends
thread before trying it in your stringing project:
- Where the knot is required create a large, loose overhand knot.
- Hold the large knot in one hand and with the other, place very small
pliers or tweezers into the loop and on either side of the string; place them
close to the spot you want the knot to be.
Slowly pull the long (or tail) thread onto the pliers/tweezers.
Just before removing the pliers/tweezers, position the forefinger and
thumb (of the hand holding the tail thread) so that it is able to sustain or
mainpulate the knot where you want it. Manipulating the knot with these two
fingers may tighten it, but you will likely need to alternate between tightening
and *pinching*.
To add stability to a knot for a finishing clasp
(this is a clasp that covers the know and attaches to the beadwork) use the above knot
manipulating tips,
dab glue on the knot for added security, pinch clasp covers tightly using
pliers.
